  • 2011: Die Norington Lecture 2011 der Australasian Faculty of Rehabilitation Medicine. Der Vortrag wurde auf dem kombinierten Treffen der Australasian Faculty of Rehabilitation Medicine (AFRM) und der Australia and New Zealand Spinal Cord Society (ANZSCoS).
  • 2010: Der Susanne Klein-Vogelbach «Special Award». Der Sonderpreis ist für Arbeiten aus dem Bereich der Physiotherapie vorgesehen. 
  • 2010: Die American Society of Neurorehabilitation und die World Federation for Neurorehabilitation zeichneten Huub van Hedel, PhD, PT, als herausragendes Mitglied für seine außergewöhnlichen wissenschaftlichen Arbeiten auf dem Gebiet der Neurorehabilitation aus. Neurorehabilitation und Neurale Reparatur. 24(5) 403.
  • 2009: Die Fürst Donnersmarck Stiftung zeichnete die Habilitationsschrift für herausragende wissenschaftliche Leistungen auf dem Gebiet der Rehabilitation aus.
