Our research center encompasses and coordinates all our research activities and provides support to researchers. Internationally renowned research teams tackle questions about subjects ranging from developmental and biological processes in health and disease, to genetic and acquired diseases, malformations and the effects of trauma, to preventative and rehabilitative measures. The goal is always to translate scientific insights into clinical practice with a special focus on the needs of children, adolescents, and their families. The main research focus lies on genetic diseases, oncological diseases, neurological diseases, as well as transplantation medicine and immunology. The researched diseases are mainly rare diseases, for which there is a great unmet need, but also a great potential to make a difference for patients.
