Knowledge – the pathway to healing

The aim of our research is to ensure that children and adolescents receive the best possible care in the prevention, treatment, and cure of diseases, injuries, and malformations – at the University Children's Hospital Zurich and elsewhere.

What we do

Treatment and research are closely intertwined. Interdisciplinary research teams work hand in hand with experts all over the world.

Internationally renowned research teams tackle questions about subjects ranging from developmental and biological processes in health and disease, to genetic and acquired diseases, malformations and the effects of trauma, to preventative and rehabilitative measures. The goal is always to translate scientific insights into clinical practice with a special focus on the needs of children, adolescents, and their families.

The main research focus lies on genetic diseases, oncological diseases, neurological diseases, as well as transplantation medicine and immunology. The researched diseases are mainly rare diseases, for which there is a great unmet need, but also a great potential to make a difference for patients.
