The University Children’s Hospital is an independent institution with a 150-year history of successful pediatric research and an official teaching and research mandate from the University of Zurich. As the largest academic pediatric hospital in Switzerland, we are working tirelessly to translate today’s pediatric research into tomorrow’s standard of care.

Research Agenda 2009-2019

Its content is based on the Swiss Research Agenda for Nursing (SRAN) Paediatrics of May 14th 2007 and the priority areas defined in the strategy of the Children's Hospital of September 25th 2008 as well as the existing ANP projects cardiology, continence, nephrology, oncology, wound care and craniosynostosis/ cleft lip, jaw and palate.


The following facts are crucial for the implementation of nursing research projects and their decision making:
- the professional and methodological skills of the nursing staff

- the available time, financial, and material resources

- the technical, methodological, and statistical support possibilities of other experts

- the existing and planned cooperations with other institutions

- the priorities of practice based on a current situation analysis

- the management decisions of the nursing directorate
