Immunologie1.pngThe research groups of the Division of Immunology focus on the investigation of congenital and thus hereditary diseases of the immune system as well as their consequences. The most important effects of the large number of different forms of immune deficiency (immune deficiencies) is a reduced immune defence against infections. Depending on the form of the immunodeficiency, different pathogens and associated diseases are the most prevalent, so that each individual immunodeficiency has a certain spectrum of infections. Infections can often have detrimental effects. Early detection of of the immunodeficiency in childhood is therefore key.
