Research Focus

The Division of Developmental Pediatrics researches the development of healthy children and children with developmental and behavioral disorders. Current research focuses on the description of the variability and course of various developmental areas such as motor skills, language, cognition, or social behavior of healthy children (e.g in the Zurich longitudinal study or the Swiss Preschooler`s Health Study SPLASHY) of children with developmental risks, which are investigated within the framework of long-term studies (e.g. children with heart defects or premature babies) as well as the investigation of investigation of brain development and its interaction with sleep in healthy and sick children using modern imaging techniques (e.g. high-resolution electroencephalography, magnetic resonance imaging).

We cooperate closely with various departments of the University Children's Hospital and other university institutions in Zurich and are well as nationally and internationally.
