POEM – Pediatric Outcome and Evaluation Measures
| Background information: Documenting improvement in functional outcome is important to evaluate the rehabilitation process and to determine the effectiveness of existing and new interventions in clinical trials.
| |
| Goal To determine various characteristics (e.g. psychometric properties and practicality) of existing and new tests which evaluate changes in (functional) outcome of the upper and lower extremities, but also to monitor sensory (dys-) functions such as pain. We evaluate assessments at the various domains according to the ICF-CY, namely body function and –structure, activity and participation. The assessments should be easy to implement in daily clinical life and sensitive to document changes in function over time. The assessments can be applied by therapists or are implemented in rehabilitation robots. |
